66 Years Old and Still Building Better Habits: Meng’s Story

At Pherform, we often say that strength training is only part of the equation. The other half is nutrition- not dieting, not restriction, but building habits that actually last.

And one of the best examples of this is Meng.

Meng is 66 years old and has been a member at Pherform since January 2016. Over the years, she has logged 1,442 visits to the gym making her not only one of our most consistent members, but also our eldest member.

Along the way of attending group classes, she has dealt with shoulder injuries, worked through personal training sessions, and committed to mobility-focused PT sessions to keep improving her movement. Even when things weren’t perfect, Meng kept showing up to classes where our coaches modified exercises so she could keep training safely.

But recently, she decided to tackle something new.

Not weight loss.
Not a restrictive diet.

She simply wanted to feel better about what she was eating.

It’s Never Too Late to Change Your Nutrition

At 66, many people assume their habits are set. Meng proved the opposite.

When she started nutrition coaching with us, the goal was simple: build practical habits she could sustain for life.

Here’s what has actually changed since she began our Nutrition Accountability Program:

  • Protein and fibre every single day (not most days; every day)

  • Zero sugary drinks for weeks straight

  • Processed foods reduced to almost nothing

  • Energy levels consistently excellent

  • Digestion, sleep, and stress all stable

  • She’s even started making bone broth at home

  • And she meal preps at 4pm every day like it’s a meeting she won’t cancel

These are not dramatic or extreme changes.

They are simple habits done consistently.

The Biggest Change Was Confidence

What surprised Meng the most wasn’t the food itself.

It was how she felt about food.

Instead of second-guessing every choice, she simplified everything:

  • Simple meals

  • Whole ingredients

  • Protein at every meal

That’s it.

No magic formula.
No restrictive diet.
No complicated meal plans that get abandoned after two weeks.

Just a clear structure and weekly accountability.

What Nutrition Coaching at Pherform Actually Looks Like

Our nutrition program isn’t about telling you what you can’t eat. It’s about helping you build habits that hold up through travel, social events, busy weeks, and real life.

Here’s what members get:

✔️ Weekly check-ins with a coach
✔️ Real accountability
✔️ Practical guidance you can actually use

Because knowing what to eat isn’t usually the problem.

Consistency is.

And that’s exactly where accountability makes the difference.

If You’re Ready for Nutrition That Actually Sticks

If you’ve been telling yourself:

“I already know what I should eat…”

…but somehow it never sticks long-term, you’re not alone.

Sometimes the missing piece isn’t information.

It’s structure, support, and someone checking in each week to keep you on track.

That’s exactly what Meng found.

And it’s never too late to start.
