Summer Strength PROGRAM for Teens: A Limited-Time Program to Empower Her Confidence

At Pherform, we believe that strength is not just about muscle - it’s about character. We help women thrive through every phase of life, and that journey starts in the teenage years with our limited-time, 5-week summer strength training program specifically designed for girls aged 13–17.

As Dr. Stacy Sims reminds us, “women are not small men” and “girls are not small adults.” Adolescence is a pivotal time of cognitive, physical, and emotional change. Teenagers require specific training environments that respect their physiology while supporting their growth. This is why we’ve developed our summer strength training program for girls aged 13–17: to foster strength, coordination, and an unshakeable sense of confidence in a supportive, female-specific environment.

To give you an honest look at the benefits, we chatted with one of our members, Geraldine, who enrolled her daughter last summer and is signing her up again this year:

What initially made you sign your daughter up for the program?

It was a few months after I had joined Pherform. I was really enjoying my own classes here so when I heard about the teen girls program happening over summer, I thought maybe my daughter would enjoy it too. I wish I had a class like this growing up! 

What was her experience of strength training / sport, prior to taking part in the program?

She was doing a bit of swimming at school for basic fitness but had no prior experience with strength training or using gym equipment. 

Did you or your daughter have any concerns before attending? 

Nope! I was surprised - she took to it quite easily. However, I was confident that she would be well supported because the  course was taught by the same amazing coaches that teach the regular classes for women. 

What did your daughter learn from this program? 

She learnt the basics of weight training,  proper form and gym safety. I think she enjoyed feeling strong and testing the limits of her strength. 


What made you decide to sign her up again?

Having experienced the benefits of strength training myself, I really wanted her to have the same experience, especially through an age appropriate class. 

As a teen in this current age of social media and celebrity worship, it’s important now, more than ever, for her to have a healthy body image and to appreciate how amazing her body is and learn how to care for it. 

Other things that were important to me as a parent in selecting this program was that it was a safe environment for my daughter to exercise in and the coaches were experienced and trustworthy. 



What would you say to other parents who are thinking about strength training for their daughters?

Just do it! Empower your girls with the gift of strength, improved confidence, better sports performance and injury prevention, and the extra bonus of good mood (because teen girls can be moody sometimes!), in a safe environment with experienced coaches! It is a gift that will have a lasting, positive impact on their health.

We want every girl who walks through our doors to leave feeling more capable than when she arrived. Our summer program is about more than just lifting weights; it’s about learning to celebrate what a body can do, rather than how it looks.

Over five weeks, our coaches facilitate conversations around nutrition, recovery, and holistic wellbeing, ensuring the girls learn how to care for themselves for the long term. We focus on progression over perfection, teaching the girls to enjoy the process of getting stronger alongside a community of their peers.

  • When: Tuesdays & Thursdays | 10:00–11:00 AM | 30 Jun - 30 Jul

  • Format: Small groups (max 12), ensuring every girl receives personalized coaching and attention.
