How We Program Strength Training for Women in Perimenopause

At Pherform, our sessions are not random workouts designed to simply make you tired.

Every part of our Semi-Private Perimenopause Strength Track is intentionally programmed to give women the most benefit possible from just two training sessions per week.

Because during peri/menopause, the body changes.

Declining oestrogen can impact:

  • Muscle mass

  • Bone density

  • Recovery

  • Energy

  • Insulin sensitivity

  • Body composition

This means the answer is not doing more.

The priority becomes doing the right type of training.

Why We Structure Sessions In 3 Parts

Every session includes:

Strength Work

Heavy strength training helps preserve muscle, improve bone density, and maintain strength as women age.

This is why we prioritise squats, deadlifts, presses, rows, and progressive loading.

Hypertrophy Work

This is the muscle-building portion of the session.

Maintaining lean muscle becomes increasingly important during peri/menopause because muscle supports metabolism, insulin sensitivity, joint health, and body composition.

Conditioning

Our conditioning is short and intentional.

We focus on improving cardiovascular fitness and metabolic health without excessive volume that can leave women feeling depleted and burnt out.

Why Two Days Per Week Works

Many women believe they need to train every day to see results.

But intelligent programming matters more than endless workouts.

When sessions are structured properly, two focused strength sessions per week can significantly improve:

  • Strength

  • Lean muscle

  • Bone density

  • Energy

  • Body composition

  • Long-term health

Most importantly, it is sustainable.

This program was designed specifically for women who want to feel stronger, healthier, and more capable, without needing to live in the gym.

Because at this stage of life, smarter training matters more than simply doing more.
