Fast forward nearly 3 years: Connie has competed at Hyrox, improved her hockey game, dropped 8 chins, and made amazing friends along the way. While she’s still figuring out gym math and nutrition, her journey is proof that fitness can be fun, fulfilling, and transformative.

Training before Pherform consisted of MAYBE successfully booking a lunch time class at a mass market gym and then cramming into an overbooked class, hoping to find a spot where I wouldn’t get sweat dripped on me.
I was nearing the milestone age of 40. 3 years ago it took one faithful night at the Globe with Coach Bernie, and 3 vodka sodas later (though I had already decided in my head midway after 1, but had to make her work for it) to join Pherform’s 8-week program. And so my journey began….
It wasn’t the prospects of lifting heavier or learning a new technique that was difficult. The real battle? As a night owl, it was dragging myself out of bed every day at sunrise to make a 7am class.
Thanks to the awesome coaches and solid vibes in class, this quickly became part of my daily routine. Exercising became something I needed and genuinely missed when life gets in the way. The perpetual muscle aches were highly welcomed, and became part of my life.
